Why we’re building Xalo

Elite sport doesn’t lack data. It lacks the ability to see what’s coming. That sentence is on our homepage for a reason.

Every founding story starts with an itch. Ours was watching the most sophisticated sporting organisations in the world make their most important decisions with less information support than a ride-hailing app gives a driver.

The observation

Elite programmes measure everything. Sprint distances, heart-rate variability, sleep quality, blood markers, video of every session. The investment in collection is enormous, and genuinely impressive.

But follow the data’s journey and it mostly ends in a folder. The physio’s system doesn’t talk to the GPS platform. The wellness scores live in a spreadsheet. The people making selection, load and return-to-play calls are synthesising all of it in their heads, under time pressure, because no system does it for them.

The wager

Our bet is that the next durable advantage in elite sport is informational. Tactics propagate in a season; staff move between clubs; facilities converge. But an organisation that consistently sees what’s coming, for every athlete and days before it arrives, compounds an edge that’s very hard to copy.

We’re not building another dashboard. We’re building the operating system for elite athlete performance.

The principles

  • Built for the desk where calls are made. Not for the analyst’s workstation but for the head coach’s Tuesday selection meeting and the bench on match day.
  • Real-time first. If it can’t deliver during competition and training, it’s a reporting tool. The world has enough of those.
  • Any sport where movement matters. The architecture is sport-agnostic by design: unify the signals, learn the individual, deliver in the moment.

Where we are

We’re building with elite programmes now, and we’re deliberate about the pace: infrastructure for sport earns trust slowly, and it should. If you run a performance department and any of this sounds like your Tuesday, we’d like to show you the platform live: real data, zero slides.
